VCHS took a step back in time when we staged this rambler of a ranch house in the Lynn Ranch development in Thousand Oaks. It had not been touched in many years. We had lots of fun envisioning what wonderful memories were made in this house, back in the day. It was our job though, to help a new owner create new memories …while giving this house a nod to its roots. It’s a great example of what Ventura County Home Staging can do to while staging an occupied home: enhance existing furnishings with inventory from VCHS.
HOME STAGING TIP: When staging a semi-vacant home, it’s important to make sure the styles of the existing furnishings blend with the new staging pieces. The benefit is that that furniture style you currently have will be complemented by designer pieces. It’s important to ask the professional stager what “style” they carry … use a staging company that is NOT cookie-cutter!
The living room got a simple makeover. We used a clean lined sofa and chair which blended seamlessly with the 1960s styled buffet, game table, and snazzy coffee table! We accessorized with glam retro silver and gold. We even managed to make the giraffe look right at home on the hearth! You know back in the day Thousand Oaks was known as the home of “Jungleland”. We love knowing the history of this town!
The over-sized master bedroom was being swallowed up by drab colors and large furniture. Off came the minty fabrics, down came the drapes and valances. Don’t forget a fresh coat of paint! Yes, you can start seeing the potential of the room. Add in the retro desk, staged as a tranquil place to sit and read the news on that not-so-retro iPad!
